'Het boek van het gedrukte boek', het door Mathieu Lommen samengestelde overzichtswerk van de Bijzondere Collecties, is nu ook in het Frans beschikbaar.

Sinds 1 januari 2019 zijn het Allard Pierson Museum en de Bijzondere Collecties samen het Allard Pierson.

Le livre des livres. Graphisme des livres au fil du temps (‘cartonné, avec jaquette’) is verschenen bij Pyramyd Editions. Deze Franse uitgever is gespecialiseerd in grafische vormgeving en geeft het populaire tijdschrift Étapes uit. De bekende ontwerper Jean François Porchez besprak Le livre des livres op zijn site typofonderie.com: ‘Mathieu Lommen takes advantage of the inexhaustible collection of the Amsterdam library to trace a history of the book, but especially of its layout, from its roots to now. Its chronological exhaustivity makes the originality of this history too. Where most of the books related to graphic design history stop at the beginning of the 20th century, this one carries on till the contemporary era.’
