Allard Pierson Reading Room reopens on 25 May

As of 25 May, it will again be possible to consult the heritage materials, archives and other special and rare works in the Reading Room of the Allard Pierson.

To consult these items, you must first receive confirmation that the material you requested has been made available to you. You must then reserve a study place in order to view the requested works.

Reservation required

You can book a study space via the contact form on the Allard Pierson website. The Reading Room is open Tuesday to Friday from 09.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Heritage materials can be requested via the Library catalogue, starting Monday 25 May. Requested items will be reserved for you for seven days.

PLEASE NOTE: due to renovation work, access to the Allard Pierson is temporarily only possible via the rear entrance of the building.

Collection and return are not possible

It is no longer possible to pick up and return your regular book loans at the circulation desk of the Reading Room. You can pick up and return these at the University Library Singel.

GW collections open again

The Humanities collections at University Library Singel and P.C. Hoofthuis will also be accessible again from 25 May. Reservation in advance is mandatory. Opening hours are: Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Reservations can be made in advance by telephone via: 020 525 1405

Consulting digital collection for external borrowers possible again

As of May 25, it will again be possible to reserve a collection PC to consult the digital collection. Reservations can be made by telephone on 020 -525 1405

The collection PCs are available Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
